Residents in Dyfatty, Waun Wen and Hafod are being encouraged to help shape Swansea’s future walking, wheeling and cycling network by taking part in Swansea Council’s Active Travel consultation.

People living across Dyfatty, Waun Wen and Hafod have an opportunity to influence how their communities are connected in the future
Swansea Council is consulting on its draft Active Travel Network Map, which sets out a long term vision for walking, wheeling and cycling routes across the city.
The proposed network includes both existing routes and potential improvements. It aims to create better connections between communities, schools, workplaces and other important destinations.
The map will also help guide future investment in active travel infrastructure across Swansea.
Why North Gate Swansea residents should get involved
The North Gate Swansea Pride in Place Programme is encouraging local people to look at the proposals and make sure their experiences and priorities are heard.
The consultation is particularly relevant to people who regularly walk, cycle or wheel through the area, as well as families travelling with children and anyone who feels local routes could be safer, easier or better connected.
Thom Lynch, Independent Chair of the North Gate Swansea Pride in Place Programme, said:
“This is an important opportunity for people in Dyfatty, Waun Wen and Hafod to help shape how our communities are connected in the future.
“Whether you walk, use a wheelchair, cycle, travel with children or simply want safer and more convenient routes in your area, I’d encourage you to take a look at the draft map and share your views with Swansea Council, thinking about what would encourage you to travel through this area using active travel?
“The stronger the response from local residents, the better chance there is of making sure local priorities are understood and reflected in future plans.”
