Two New Job Opportunities Join the North Gate Swansea Pride in Place Team

Come and help us grow something special in North Gate Swansea

Two exciting new job opportunities are now live as we continue to build the North Gate Swansea Pride in Place delivery team.

We are recruiting a North Gate Swansea Programme Lead and North Gate Swansea Programme Officer.

Both are full time roles for an initial two year period and offer an incredible opportunity to work right amongst the communities of North Gate Swansea, helping local people turn ideas, priorities and ambition into action.

Applications are open for two weeks, so if either role sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

These are important appointments for the next stage of our journey.

North Gate Swansea Pride in Place is a UK Government funded programme designed to empower local people to shape the future of their neighbourhoods through long term investment, community leadership and local decision making.

Now we need two brilliant people to help us deliver it.

North Gate Swansea Programme Lead

Come and help grow something special in North Gate Swansea.

We are looking for an experienced Programme Lead who can bring people together, build trusted relationships and help turn a major ten year investment and community ambition into visible, lasting change.

This is not simply a programme to manage from behind a desk.

We want someone who will be present, visible and involved across North Gate Swansea. Someone who will get to know residents, businesses, community organisations and partners while working closely with our Independent Chair and active Neighbourhood Board.

The Programme Lead will provide the leadership needed to keep a major programme moving. This includes developing projects, building partnerships, managing resources, supporting the Board and overseeing funding, governance, monitoring and reporting.

At its heart, though, this role is about people, place and delivery.

The Programme Lead will be employed and professionally supported by Swansea Council as the Accountable Body, while working closely day to day with the Independent Chair and North Gate Swansea Neighbourhood Board.

North Gate Swansea Programme Officer

Be part of the team turning local ideas into action.

We are also looking for an energetic, organised and community focused Programme Officer who loves working with people, builds relationships and gets things done.

This is a hands on delivery role.

One day you could be listening to residents over a cuppa. Another could involve visiting a local business, helping a community group develop an idea, organising an engagement event, supporting a project on site or bringing partners together.

Then there is the important work behind the scenes to make sure those conversations become actions, projects and real change.

Working alongside the Programme Lead, Independent Chair and Neighbourhood Board, the Programme Officer will help connect local people and organisations with the opportunities created through Pride in Place.

We are looking for someone who can combine great relationships with great organisation and who enjoys people as much as projects.

Could this be you?

Working right amongst North Gate Swansea

Both roles will form part of a small delivery team focused specifically on North Gate Swansea Pride in Place.

We want this team to be connected to the place it serves.

That means getting out, listening, building relationships, working alongside local organisations and being visible across our neighbourhoods.

North Gate Swansea includes North Hill, Upper High Street, Dyfatty, Hafod, Brynmelyn, Waun Wen and surrounding neighbourhoods.

There will also be important work with Swansea Council, the UK Government, the Neighbourhood Board and partners across the city and beyond.

Help us build the next chapter

We are still in the early stages of North Gate Swansea Pride in Place.

Our Neighbourhood Board is developing, community engagement is growing and we are beginning to build the structures that will support this programme for the years ahead.

That makes these two roles particularly exciting.

You will not simply be joining something already established. You will have the opportunity to help us build it.

We want to create a programme that listens well, works collaboratively, gets things done and, most importantly, creates change that local people can see, feel and be proud of.

If that sounds like the kind of challenge you would love to be part of, we would love to hear from you.
